Over the years Thirlestane Castle has had its fair share of being in the limelight for the same reason that events management companies choose us: for our stunning location. Simply put, the castle is photogenic inside and out, providing a fascinating and  inspiring setting for any story or event.

Here are some of the recent highlights:

1. The Times
A photographer approached Thirlestane Castle to catch the team in action as they prepared to re-open the castle after Covid-19 Lockdown 2021. This image was used as a photo caption in The Times.

2. The Scotsman
The Annual BVAC Classic Festival of Motoring not only draws in crowds to marvel at the classic cars, but also attracts photographers representing national papers. They adore the photo opportunity that this event with the vintage cars and majestic castle backdrop provides.

3. Harper’s Bazaar
Our accommodation has appeared in travel features abroad and at home. Thirlestane Castle has even been included in a Russian edition of Harper’s Bazaar.

4. Scotland on Sunday
Not long after the transformation of the South Wing we were approached to be interviewed by the Scotland on Sunday and our luxury five-star apartments featured in their interiors-spread. Because the rooms combine luxury finishes with style and character, they make for stunning photography.

5. Scotland Starts Here
The image of Thirlestane Castle was captured as the press photocall for the Scottish Borders for Scotland Starts Here – a marketing campaign to attract visitors to the South of Scotland when it launched in 2020.

These highlights show that there is more to Thirlestane Castle than just a pretty facade. It is a lively place which continues to be part of Scottish history. When you visit and share memorable experiences with us you become part of that history.
