Lauderdale Estate farms in the land around Thirlestane Castle in the Leader valley and onto the uplands on the edge of the Lammermuirs. A proportion of the land is tenanted and farmed as a mixed livestock and arable whilst the remainder is farmed in-hand and managed as traditional grass parklands and moorland for livestock production.

Lauderdale Estate woodlands have been carefully managed over generations to balance the requirements of the environment, habitat, landscape and commercial production.

The built heritage on the estate is a vital part of the estates core income and purpose. Managing the property sensitively to provide modern and varied accommodation whilst looking after the heritage is the primary objective.

The Estate and Grounds will be open to the public from May 2025. Come and enjoy some beautiful walking routes, offering incredible views of the surrounding area and glimpses of local wildlife.
