Antiques Roadshow – July 2024

We are delighted to be welcoming Antiques Roadshow to Thirlestane Castle this summer!

Please note this is a ticketed event and there will be no additional entry available on the day. You can get tickets by applying through the BBC link – www.bbc.co.uk/antiquesroadshow.

Fiona Bruce and the team will be back on the road this summer filming the 47th series of one of the BBC’s most loved programmes. For the past four decades, the award-winning show has visited hundreds of venues in the UK and abroad, and we can’t wait to bring them to the Scottish Borders.

The team are on the hunt for a broad mix of antiques, family heirlooms and vintage treasures. Every show will feature specialists in the fields of jewellery, silver, ceramics, glass, pictures, rare books, clocks and watches, and militaria, as well as a team of experts with knowledge of all things collectable – from retro toys to movie and music memorabilia, from ancient antiquities to costume jewellery, from mid-century furniture to vintage fashion.

How to get tickets to the Antiques Roadshow?

The Antiques Roadshow is a ticketed event. You must apply for tickets through the BBC website through this link and can choose from different morning or afternoon arrival times. Successful applicants will receive their tickets 4 weeks ahead of the event.

Please note the ticketing process is managed by the BBC, the Thirlestane Castle team can therefore not aid with ticket procurement.

What to expect on the day:

There will be plenty to see on the day, and we’d encourage you to make a day of it, seeing some of our filming in progress, and soak up the Roadshow atmosphere.
Refreshments will be available to buy on the day, but you’re also welcome to bring your own food and drinks.
Ahead of the event day, the BBC team will send out a more detailed FAQ document with information about everything to expect at the Antiques Roadshow. This will include guidance on each venue’s policy on bringing dogs, parking arrangements, public transport, and accessibility.

How can I bring along an item:

The team at BBC are asking you to tell them about the special item(s) you would like to bring along and submit some photographs by ‘Sharing Your Story’ here.

Members of the team regularly review submissions and, in some cases, might make contact before the Roadshow event to discuss the items you would like to bring.

Further questions/information:

Please note this event is managed entirely by the BBC team and therefore if you have any specific questions, we ask you to get in touch with them directly by clicking here to go to their website.
