Post update: The Thirlestane Woodland Lodges are now live and you can take a look at them here!

An exciting new venture is due to open its doors in Thirlestane Castle’s woodlands this summer.  The first two high-quality holiday lodges will shortly be ready to provide a special holiday experience in a secluded woodland location.

The lodges have been designed with sustainability front and centre.  The timber-built lodges are run on renewable energy with both ground source heating systems and photovoltaic solar power.  This will help to minimise the CO2 emissions whilst not compromising comfort and holiday fun.  In addition to this every lodge will have its own electric vehicle charging point.

Thirlestane Woodland Lodges are set in tranquil woodland with views peeking through the trees overlooking the Leader Water towards Thirlestane Castle.  Each lodge has an open plan living area and an outside decked terrace with a hot tub.  The first lodges to be released will have two beautifully finished bedrooms a piece, with both an en suite shower room and a family bathroom.

Electric vehicle charging points are conveniently located at each lodge so that those visitors with electric vehicles can completely relax in the knowledge that their car is ready for them to explore the surrounding area at any time.

Guests can also enjoy the amenity offered by the trails and parkland of Thirlestane Estate as well as longer routes, along the Southern Upland Way into the Lammermuir Hills or over Lauder Common, which are all accessible from the doorstep without the need of a car.  In addition to the great outdoors, the lodges have superb proximity to the Royal Burgh of Lauder and, with direct access along a pathway through Thirlestane Castle’s parkland, guests can take a cycle or walk into the town to enjoy its amenities, whether it is a trip to fill the fridge or enjoy the local eateries.

Watch this space to be one of the first to enjoy a holiday at Thirlestane Woodland lodges.
