Thirlestane Castle has shut its doors for the last time this year after a very successful season. Thank you to everyone that visited and to those that let us know how much they enjoyed their time here.
Autumn may be here with Thirlestane Castle nearing the end of its 2017 season, but there is still three weeks left to come and enjoy all there is to offer in both the castle and its surrounding grounds.
Thirlestane Castle will be turning blue to mark the start of Borders Heritage Month in September. Tickets also still available for our special Heritage Tour and Talk on one of Thirlestane Castle's most famous residents, the Duke of Lauderdale.
Our Old Kitchens are now available to hire for small wedding parties, private dining events and groups thanks to funding from LEADER. This rustic, contemporary space is a real contrast to our grand State Rooms in other parts of the castle.

Family favourite The Wind in the Willows is being brought to life at Thirlestane Castle with an open-air theatre performance on the front lawn. Tickets available now!
Thirlestane Castle was transported back to the civil war era as musket fire echoed round the castle during The Sealed Knot's Re-enactment Weekend.
