End of Season Looms
The nights are drawing in, the schools have gone back and the weather has taken a turn for the worse - it must be autumn!
It means that there are just three weeks left to come and visit Thirlestane Castle and its grounds.
The castle is open from 10am every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday with last entry to the castle at 3pm.
Come and marvel at our stunning 17th century Dunsterfield plasterwork ceilings, spot the family resemblance in one of the largest collections of family portraits in Scotland and find toys from your youth in our nurseries.
Our friendly guides are always on hand to show you items of interest or answer your questions as you tour the castle.
We have a gift shop stocking Thirlestane souvenirs, books and food items which is open whenever the castle is welcoming visitors.
There is also our cosy tea room serving light lunches, sweet treats and drinks. Why not book in to have Afternoon Tea on one of the remaining Sundays.
You can finish up your visit with a walk along the River Leader or amongst the woodland that surrounds the castle.
Sunday 2nd October is last day of the season when we will close until April 30th 2018. However, by prior arrangement we can open the doors during the winter for groups who want to tour the castle, private dining occasions, weddings or other events. Please get in touch to find out more information by calling 01578 722430 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
