2019 Visitor Season
We are now just days away from opening the castle again to our day visitors. The first day of our 2019 season will be 28th April 2019. We will then be open between 10am and 4pm all Sundays to Thursday until 26th September.
Visitors can tour the State Rooms of the castle and marvel at the intricate 17th-century plasterwork ceilings and admire one of the largest collections of family portraits. New for this year, our historic toy collection is relaunching in a new location, the castle's old school room. We have a few finishing touches to make to this display but it will be open to visitors in the coming weeks. Our Tea Room and Gift Shop will also be open when the castle is so you can enjoy refreshments while you are here or buy a souvenir of your time at Thirlestane.
We are also excited to launch our 2019 Events Calendar. More details of all the events can be found on our events pages but we have an exciting programme throughout the summer:
